OCEANhab Terms of Use

Welcome to OCEANhab, a platform designed to connect users with ocean-related opportunities, content, and resources. These Terms of Use govern your access and use of the platform and its services. By using OCEANhab, you agree to these Terms.

1. Services Overview

OCEANhab offers various services, including but not limited to job listings, internship opportunities, a CV database, subscription-based exclusive content, discounts, affiliate offers, and curated ocean-related content. Additionally, 10% of all profits are donated to marine conservation projects.

2. User Accounts and Registration

To access specific features such as subscription content, CV uploads, and exclusive offers, users must create an account. During registration, we will collect your name, address, phone number, and optional company details.

2.1. Account Responsibilities

• Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials.
• Users agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information during registration.
• Users who wish to terminate their account will need to contact customer support at [insert email/contact] to request deletion.

3. Subscriptions, Payments, and Shop Purchases

OCEANhab offers a subscription service that provides access to premium content, discounts, and exclusive offers. All subscription payments are processed via Stripe and are recurring. Products and services purchased through our shop will offer Stripe and PayPal as payment methods.

3.1. Payment and Renewal

• Subscription payments are automatically processed via Stripe. Users agree to provide accurate billing information.
• For products and services in the shop, Stripe and PayPal are accepted as payment methods.
• If subscription payments are not processed after three consecutive attempts, the subscription and access to premium content will be terminated.

3.2. Cancellations and Refunds

• Users can cancel their subscription at any time by contacting customer support. Access to paid content will remain active until the current billing cycle ends. No refunds are provided for unused portions of the subscription.

4. CV Database, Job Listings, and Privacy Protection

Users may upload their CVs to OCEANhab’s database, which employers can access by paying a fee. We strongly recommend that users avoid sharing excessive personal details such as home addresses or sensitive information to ensure their privacy.

4.1. Privacy and Use of CV Data

• We encourage users to limit personal details on their CVs to their name, email address, and professional details. OCEANhab cannot be held responsible for the misuse of CV data by third parties.
• Employers who access the CV database must agree to contact users only with legitimate job offers. Any misuse of user data or unsolicited offers will result in account termination and may lead to legal action.

5. Content Ownership, Co-Creation, and Intellectual Property

OCEANhab provides a mix of original and curated content, including third-party embedded content from YouTube, Spotify, TikTok, and other platforms. OCEANhab retains full ownership of all original content, including any new concepts, ideas, and intellectual property developed on the platform.

5.1. Intellectual Property Protection

• All original content, ideas, concepts, and co-creation processes introduced by OCEANhab are the sole intellectual property of the platform. Users agree not to copy, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from OCEANhab’s content without prior written consent.
• Co-creation processes that involve collaboration between OCEANhab and its users or partners will be governed by separate agreements to protect the intellectual property rights of all parties involved.

6. Third-Party Services and Disclaimers

OCEANhab integrates with third-party platforms such as YouTube, Spotify, and affiliate partners. These services have their own privacy policies, and OCEANhab is not responsible for their content or operations.

6.1. Affiliate Marketing and Sponsored Content

• OCEANhab may feature affiliate links, promotions, and sponsored content. By clicking these links, users are redirected to external websites. OCEANhab is not responsible for any interactions or purchases made on these third-party websites.
• Disclosures regarding affiliate links and sponsored content will be provided at each relevant instance.

7. User Responsibilities and Prohibited Uses

Users are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the information they upload or provide on the platform, including CVs and job postings.

7.1. Prohibited Activities

• Users may not engage in harmful behaviors such as spamming, using bots or AI to automate actions, or misrepresenting themselves or their organization.
• Any misuse of the platform will result in suspension or termination of the account.

8. Termination of Use

OCEANhab reserves the right to suspend or terminate user accounts in cases of misuse, non-payment, or breach of these terms.

8.1. User Termination and Data Deletion

• Users who wish to delete their account must contact customer support. Upon request, all associated data will be permanently removed, except for records we are legally required to retain.
• OCEANhab encourages users to delete their CVs if they discontinue their subscription or no longer wish to use the service.

9. Liability and Disclaimer

OCEANhab operates as a marketplace and information hub, connecting users with opportunities such as job listings, volunteer projects, and discount offers. We are not responsible for any outcomes related to these opportunities, including but not limited to dissatisfaction with jobs, issues with volunteer travel projects, or disputes arising from the use of third-party services.

• OCEANhab does not guarantee the accuracy, suitability, or legality of any job listings or third-party services featured on the platform.
• Users agree to use their own discretion and take personal responsibility when engaging with opportunities or services featured on OCEANhab.
• OCEANhab is not liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from the use of the platform or third-party services.

9.1. Service Interruptions and Technical Issues

While we strive to provide uninterrupted service, OCEANhab is not liable for any downtime, technical issues, or service interruptions that may affect user access to the platform.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

This agreement is governed by the laws of Norway. In the event of a dispute, users agree to attempt resolution through mediation before pursuing any formal legal action.

11. Changes to Terms of Use

OCEANhab reserves the right to update these Terms of Use. It is the responsibility of users to review these terms periodically. Continued use of the platform after changes indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
